What is consultation mode?
In consultation mode, your conversation with Su Xiaoqiang happens in the chat stream, with replies from the official assistant identity. Consultation is for discussion and planning only—it does not modify the project. To apply changes, return to the main input and send execution instructions. Consultation mode is completely free: it does not consume credits and does not trigger edits or regeneration. Why use consultation mode?
- Understand the current project – Ask about the codebase, components, structure, and implementation details
- Get advice – Best practices, architecture improvements, or how to implement features
- Plan next steps – Discuss changes, refactors, or new features before you build
- Troubleshoot – Diagnose issues, understand errors, or spot risks
- Learn and explore – See how things work, compare approaches, or learn concepts
How to enter consultation mode
- Click “Free consultation” – Find the Free consultation button at the bottom right of the input and click it
- Confirm you are in consultation mode – The button turns green and shows Exit consultation; click it when you are done
- Type your question – Enter what you want to discuss while in consultation mode
- Attachments are supported – Add reference images or documents when planning
Tip: Only one consultation thread runs at a time. If one is already in progress, sending again is blocked (the send button is disabled). Wait for the current reply to finish or stop it manually; content already generated stays in the chat. These rules apply only to consultation mode and do not mean the web app offers multi-user voice calls.
Su Xiaoqiang while you wait
During long-running tasks such as style generation, Su Xiaoqiang may appear in the chat stream with proactive reminders or while-you-wait suggestions to explain platform capabilities, progress, or what to do next. This is separate from consultation mode: you do not open a special window. When you want a deeper discussion, click “Free consultation” anytime.Consultation mode vs main flow
Recommended workflow
- Consult first, then execute
- In consultation mode, state goals, constraints, and acceptance criteria
- Ask Su Xiaoqiang to outline scope and steps
- After you agree on a plan, switch to the main input to execute
- Use “Upload operation video” or screenshots
- When describing flows, UI issues, or repro steps, choose “Upload operation video” from attachments or upload screenshots
- Clearer context leads to better plans
- If execution causes cascading issues, roll back first
- Avoid repeated patch-on-patch fixes
- Restore a stable version, then return to consultation mode to replan
- See Version history & rollback
