# Quote before you continue editing

> Quote the prior message, then say what to change — less guessing and rework.

When you want to continue from an earlier plan but only say “adjust per the previous plan,” long chats make it unclear which message or version you mean. Guessing and correcting burns credits.

### Save credits: use Quote

Find the history message, click **Quote**, then say what to change this time.

### Good uses

1. **Follow-up questions** — quote the message, ask without re-explaining context.
2. **Add requirements** — quote the agreed plan, add constraints or references.
3. **Continue edits** — quote the version and say what to keep vs change.

### Example

Quote the booking-flow plan, then:

> Based on this plan, change login to phone OTP; keep the rest of the flow.
